LeeChunTek Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Successfully Conducts 100th Robot Artificial Joint Surgery with Doctor LCT

This feat comes one year after the hospital’s first surgery with Dr. LCT last June. LeeChunTek Hospital currently conducts customized surgeries for patients with two types of robots, “Robo Doc” and “Dr. LCT.” Dr. LCT is used for relatively more complex surgeries, depending on the bone condition and its deformative state.
Artificial joint surgery is considered an advanced type of surgery in the orthopedics sector. Recently, robot surgeries are gaining traction, and more and more hospitals are using robots to perform surgeries. Dr. LCT’s robot arm has seven axes, which is the greatest number of joints out of all existing artificial joint surgery robots. This allows the robot to be more nimble, and surgeries can be performed from various angles, which was not possible with other robots. Also, with greater power, it has better incision capabilities, and a higher level of accuracy and precision is attained with multiple sensors. In particular, by reducing the time required for incisions, it has been possible to reduce the total duration of the surgery. This ultimately has led to the reduced risk of bleeding and complications, and less pain, with greater patient satisfaction achieved.
